Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the CN-52, broadly equivalent to the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
- Leads some of the Legislative Affairs outreach efforts to congressional offices, including state and district-based offices and Congressional caseworkers. Works closely with the Staff Director for Legislative Affairs, Deputy Director, and Senior Congressional Liaisons, senior Bureau staff in other offices and divisions, and Congressional oversight committees to plan briefings, meetings, and events involving Members of Congress, Congressional staff, and their constituents to increase their understanding of the CFPB's work and mission and to inform Congressional offices about CFPB resources that may be of assistance to their constituents;
- Participates in planning and preparing for Congressional hearings, meetings, briefings, and other external CFPB events involving Members of Congress and staff and their constituents, to increase the understanding of Members of Congress, Congressional staff, and their constituents about the CFPB's work and mission;
- Drafts written materials, including briefing or issue papers, memoranda, reports, newsletters, correspondence, and other materials for the purpose of Congressional engagement, briefings, events, meetings, speeches, and hearings. Disseminates according to written procedures or identifies alternative procedures with guidance from the Staff Director for Legislative Affairs or Senior Congressional Liaisons in the Legislative Affairs Section;
- Prepares summaries of feedback from Members of Congress and Congressional staff to inform the Staff Director for Legislative Affairs and Senior Congressional Liaisons, and senior CFPB staff, about inquiries and requests that come in from Congressional offices and solicits information from senior staff about the Bureau's work to be shared with Congressional offices.

Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify at the CN-52, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the CN-51 grade level in the Federal service. (For qualification purposes, the CN-51 is broadly equivalent to the GS-11). Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience:- Coordinating legislative outreach efforts of an organization; AND
- Participating in planning and preparing for Congressional hearings, meetings and briefings; AND
