Health Informatics and Analytics is the specialty that integrates nursing science, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, and knowledge. This support is accomplished using information structures, information processes and information technology. The Cerner BCMA Coordinator integrates ergonomics and human-computer interaction (HCI) principles into informatics solution design, development, selection, implementation, and evaluation. He/she systematically determines the social, legal, regulatory, and ethical impact of an informatics solution on nursing and healthcare.
The Cerner BCMA Coordinator possesses an expert understanding of clinical treatment modalities, organization and administration of the VA healthcare delivery systems, educational principles, clinical information systems, accreditation and regulatory standards and program development.
