The Senior Advisor for Research and Development is responsible for addressing the wide range of issues effecting Reclamation's water and power programs. The Senior Advisor will develop and lead three communities of practice within the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation: 1) Hydrology and hydraulics, 2) Climate Change, and 3) Peer Review across Reclamation offices, including the Regional offices, Power Resource Office, Water Resources and Planning Office in the development and utilization of state of the art technical solutions. Others duties include:
Ensuring that Reclamation is developing and utilizing cutting-edge science and engineering tools and methods to inform decision-making throughout the Bureau.
Guiding Reclamation's development of appropriate science for developing strategic and techniques to address water and power issues throughout the Western States.
Coordinating activities associated with a range of science issues, including climate change adaptation, advanced water treatment, invasive species, renewable energy, and senior-level technical advice and assistance related to peer review and science-informed decision-making through hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
Providing advice, evaluation and strategic planning in Reclamation's Science and Technology program areas, including water infrastructure, power and energy, environmental issues for water delivery and management.
