This position is located in the HHS OIG Office of Investigations (OI), in Washington, DC. OI conducts criminal, civil, and administrative investigations of fraud and misconduct related to HHS programs, operations and employees, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies and law enforcement tools. OI also provides protective services to the Secretary and participates in the HHS continuity of operations program as well as a full range of public safety and security incident management activities.

The Assistant Inspectors General for Investigations (AIGI), working under the general direction of the Deputy Inspector General for Investigations (DIGI), comprise the OI executive leadership team through which day-to-day OI operations are carried out. As AIGI, you will assist the DIGI in establishing OIG's investigative priorities, evaluating the progress of investigations, and reporting to the Inspector General. You will provide leadership, direction, and guidance to Special Agents in Charge who carry out investigative activities in their assigned geographic area or program portfolio.

Security and Background Requirements: This is a special sensitive position and a top secret clearance is required. A background security investigation will be required for all appointees. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. A credit check will be conducted. Failure to successfully meet these requirements may be grounds for appropriate personnel action. In addition, if hired, a background security reinvestigation or supplemental investigation may be required at a later time.
