Duties
The major duties of the Training Instructor include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Serves as lead training instructor and facilitator co-teaching with GS-07/09 instructors to review and evaluate curriculum by applying knowledge of training methods and adult learning principles
- Formulates training outlines and materials, writes lesson plans, and determines instructional methods
- Provides leadership to training team in curriculum development and instructional strategy
- Mentors and provides constructive feedback
- Provides technical guidance to lower graded team of instructors
- Teaches complex information in an informal classroom setting and during field activities, to both large and small groups
- Collaborates with team members to establish short and long term goals
- Plans and develops training programs to gathers facts, evaluates training needs, adjustments and improvements, and accommodate program/service changes
- Collaborates with guest instructors and guest speakers
- Collaborates with Training Manager, Instructional Systems Specialist, and Subject Matter Experts
- Collects and analyses data to modify and monitor effectiveness of NPS Fundamentals Training Program
- Develops, adapts, and implements appropriate surveys to properly evaluate methods, products, and curriculum
- Provides assistance implementing changes to testing procedures
- Develops and adapts curriculum to improve the curriculum, job aids, micro-learning products, and development tools

Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary office work with occasional travel. Some walking is required and occasional classroom delivery (including setup/breakdown).
