The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Enterprise Architecture (EA) Branch Manager is responsible for the development, maintenance, enhancement, and publication of the FAA Enterprise Architecture, and the development and administration of the services, systems and data which support it. The FAA EA provides essential decision support and regulatory compliance functions for the agency. It uses the Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF) and some artifacts and views from the Department of Defence Architecture Framework (DoDAF). The FAA EA consists of reference models, domains, segments and data. Success if the EA is measured through operational impact. This includes the areas of strategic planning, investment governance, IT operations and other forms of decision support.
If selected for this position, you will serve as the FAA EA Branch Manager (ADE-210). In this role, you will guide development of the Enterprise Architecture and its application to FAA operational problems; including creating new EA products and services, improving and developing those services, which now exist, and collaborating closely with your colleagues in the National Airspace System (NAS) and office of Information Technology (AIT). You will plan both routine and complex work to be accomplished, assigning work, setting priorities and reviewing and evaluating work and performance of subordinates; Coaching and developing employees; approving leave; taking, recommending or approving disciplinary actions; Managing budget and assigned resources including planning for both short-term and longterm needs utilizing advanced technical knowledge of work as well as budget and applicable administrative policies and processes; Resolving all but unique problems independently and recommending new policies and procedures that impact the objectives of the unit(s) managed as well as internal and external customers.
Key roles of the EA Branch Manager include, but are not limited to, 1) Creating a shared strategic vision for the Enterprise Architecture, with active input from key stakeholders, and organizing staff and colleagues to implement this vision; 2) Managing the architecture team and discovery section lead; 3) Challenging the status quo, recognizing opportunities in new ways of doing things, and embracing the challenge of making change in an institutional environment; 4) Meeting the EA regulatory compliance mission requirements with excellence and attention to detail; 5) Communicating effectively and building coalitions to achieve results; 6) Overseeing and extending the enterprise Ontology which represents the business, data, investment and technology entities and their relationships with an understanding of how these models are applied for operational impact.

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-J, FG/GS 14 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Specialized experience may include but not limited to: Experience leading enterprise architecture efforts for an agency or large private organization , this includes developing, operating and innovating with respect to an enterprise investment governance and planning framework and/or Program and Project Management Framework (PMLC).
