The incumbent of this position serves as the Assistant Director of Programs (Applications and Systems) of this organization, and in this capacity and through a staff of program analysts, and management analysts, directs the formulation of, and recommends to, the Deputy Director and Director, Loan Guaranty Service, for requirements, policies, plans, regulations, procedures, and standards. These apply to information technology projects, system analysis, program data analysis, system budget needs, and related strategic development of systems and data essential to the direction and operation of the Loan Guaranty Service. Serves as the expert on LGY system and data information and serves as the authoritative technical expert on these matters.
The AD conducts business requirements for a comprehensive Loan Guaranty IT (Information Technology) and data program. IT responsibilities include converting long-range strategic plans into operating plans, needs assessments, coordination with users and various elements within VA and VBA, keeping abreast of technological developments and planning strategies by maintaining contacts with IT associations, vendors and conducting all planning within the framework of Agency policy mission, goals and objectives.
Serves as the expert technical advisor and consultant to the Loan Guaranty Director, Deputy Director and senior VBA and VA leadership on all matters concerning the day-to-day operations of LGY systems and data environment, acquisition for LGY IT-related services, performance and service delivery to support Veterans, lenders, servicers, appraisers and other program participants nationwide.
