Duties

Help

Serves as a key senior analyst and advisor, providing expert advice, guidance and support to a Center Director (or equivalent) on the key mission critical issues, initiatives and agency functions.

Assists in development and coordinates aging program, policy and strategic initiatives on sensitive issues of great concern to the Center Director (or equivalent) and Administration.

Oversees the implementation of key strategic priorities and initiatives, offering leadership acumen and demonstrating the ability to work with staff of all levels on serious and usually sensitive matters.

Uses financial resources effectively and creatively for innovative approaches and solutions.

Frequently represents the Center Director (or equivalent) in important meetings, conferences and discussions on matters as they relate to the Agency's programs and services.

Supervises employees, providing administrative and technical supervision, establishes guidelines and performance expectations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification Requirement:

Have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service that includes developing, proposing and implementing aging related agency policy and program recommendations including budget and long term strategic approaches; collaborating, communicating and balancing competing interests with internal and external stakeholder to advance agency goals and priorities; coaching, mentoring, and supporting professional development of subordinates; and evaluating effective organizational management and administrative operations best practices and recommendations.

Desirable candidate will have senior-level leadership experience in the field of aging. The candidate should be familiar with Older Americans Act programs and services, and have previous involvement in program policy development and implementation. Experience in assessing and managing program complexities while balancing competing interests with outcomes demonstrating fairness, objectivity, creativity, and compassion. Experience in promoting and maintaining the vision grounded in credible service and support for aging consumers and their families.



Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through national Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
