Duties
The incumbent works under the direction of the Facility Operations Specialist. A valid state driver's license will be required. Primary duties will include: cleaning offices and buildings; collecting bagged trash and recycled materials from site buildings, historic structures and hauling those materials to designated areas in the site; sweeps, mops, strips, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors using brooms, mops. Dusts, waxes and polishes office furniture, table tops, desks, chairs, lighting, fixtures, windows, window ledges and woodwork. Incumbent maintains restrooms, vault toilets and satellite toilets in clean and sanitary condition. Cleans and maintains walls, carpets and ceiling surfaces. Occasionally works on ladders/scaffolds to clean and/or replace ceiling fixtures, walls, replace light bulbs and other similar tasks, washing windows, walls, room partitions and lights. Mowing and trimming grass in a manner that will have a well kept appearance around the buildings and historic structures; maintaining paved and unpaved walkways; repairing and/or installing fences. Occasionally will staff the information desk at the visitor center, providing visitors with information.

Indoor work is often accomplished in office buildings or in well-lighted, heated, and ventilated areas such as warehouses, loading docks, or trade shops. I utilize most hand and power tools associated with these tasks including light hand and power and cleaning custodial tools, lawn mowers, snow blowers, and leaf blowers . I have experience performing operator maintenance on all vehicles/equipment operated (e.g. monitoring fluid levels, checking tire pressure and blade replacement/sharpening). Perform these duties as an expert with a high degree of independence. Supervisor have assigned work orally, through work orders, or with written specifications. Work was checked to see that it met compliance with work and safety standards and policies.

Limited grocery shopping, service station, K-8 school, and post office are located in Interior, 9 miles from Minuteman Missile National Historic Park. Shopping, medical and dental facilities and schools K-12 are available in Wall, Kadoka, Philip and Rapid City. The area is a beautiful place to live and raise a family but winters can be harsh with occasional cold temperatures, high winds, and blizzard like conditions.
