Duties
Chief Cybersecurity Architect serves as the principal adviser for the development of cybersecurity architectures, and ensures the DoD cybersecurity architecture enables DoD C4 in face of capable cyber adversary, and DoD fielding of artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, enterprise cloud computing adoption, and other such capabilities throughout the required by the Department's Digital Modernization.Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develops and implements a commercial and industry outreach strategy for the DoDCISO, identifying areas of high potential for adoption of commercial technology cybersecurity solutions; USG research and development solutions; and government and/or commercial best practices.
- Identifies and implements key strategic initiatives that will improve the Department's cybersecurity posture, while simultaneously creating a partnership with DHS and other government agencies to improve cybersecurity support to critical infrastructure.
- Develops a comprehensive Department-wide strategies, architectures and implementation plans for key enterprise security systems supporting zero trust architecture, including Identity Credential and Access Management (ICAM), data-centric security root of trust, mission enclave virtualization and enterprise cross domain solutions
- Leads DoD CISO's and the Department's outreach/integration efforts with the private sector's CS community to adopt and incorporate where appropriate their continuous improvements techniques within DoD.

- Expert knowledge of Federal Cybersecurity and National Security System policies and procedures; information system security engineering (ISSE) expertise; and expert knowledge of enterprise cybersecurity security architectures, and supporting tools and technologies.
- Expert knowledge of - and extensive experience with - government and/or commercial/industry IT policies and programs and the background issues related to the development and sustainment of these policies and programs.
