The major duties of an Law Clerk in a Regional Office include investigating unfair labor practice charges; analyzing for completeness and evidentiary value information obtained from parties and making recommendations as to whether issuance of a complaint is warranted; conducting legal research relating to the interpretation and application of the Federal Service Labor-Management Relations Statute (5 U.S.C. § 7101 et seq.) and other laws, rules and regulations; negotiating settlements; preparing and litigating unfair labor practice complaints before Administrative Law Judges; conducting representation elections and hearings; preparing draft Decisions and Orders on representation cases; and providing training and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services.
Professional legal education beyond the first professional law degree may be substituted for professional legal experience as follows:
