- Develop feasible alternative design recommendations, including plans and cost comparisons, designs and specifications for the alteration of existing or construction of new facilities.
- Lead interdisciplinary project teams to accomplish high quality products from inception through post construction.
- Participate in the selection process for Architecture/Engineering (A/E), construction management, and construction contractors.
- Maintain positive working relationships with individuals from many forums, including upper management, major industry representatives, and other stakeholders to plan, coordinate, and solve problems related to projects.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Nongovernment housing: may be available for rent in the local communities of Groveland, Mariposa, Midpines, Bootjack, Oakhurst, and Catheys Valley. El Portal is a small community bordering the west side of Yosemite National Park and 15 miles west of Yosemite Valley.
Physical Demands: Work is mostly sedentary, with some walking at construction sites during field orientation phases. Because of project demands, considerable personal stress is ever present.
Working Conditions: Work is generally performed in an office setting, with occasional fieldwork involving moderate risks of construction operations. Travel to project sites will be required.
The National Park Service has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.

Sitting astride the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the park covers 1,182 square miles of varied wilderness ecosystems, from river valleys to alpine meadows to lofty 13,000 foot high peaks. Yosemite Valley is located 208 miles from San Francisco, 81 miles from Merced, and 94 miles from Fresno. Shopping, medical, postal and laundry services are available in the park. Elevation at the Valley floor is approximately 4,000 feet and 2,200 feet in El Portal. The park is open year-round with the majority of activities occurring during the busy season March through October.
