- Provide day to day management direction and staff supervision for the National Black-footed Ferret Conservation Center captive breeding activities and associated facilities
- Assist in developing and implementing a multi-faceted recovery program for the proper conservation and management of the Black-footed Ferret
- Assist in developing annual work plans and guidance to help identify priority work activities for captive breeding
- Oversee the management, operation and facilities of the National Black-footed Ferret Conservation Center
- Represent the Service and the captive breeding program to a wide variety of audiences including other agencies, news media, conservation organizations, etc.
