Duties
- Serves as an Instructor in the CYS Instructional Program.
- Provides individual and/or group lessons to participants.
- Implements changes and adjustments to instructional program and plans to meet unusual situations associated with the needs of individual children and youth.
- Interacts with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques.
- Prepares and implements program options for children and youth with special requirements.
- Observes program participants for signs that may indicate illness, abuse or neglect and reports as directed.
- Provides care, oversight, and accountability for program participants in compliance with DoD, Army and local policies, guidance, and standards.

- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
- All required background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2, paragraph 2-13; i. must be successfully completed and maintained to include the initiation/completion of Child and Youth National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI).
- Successful completion of prescribed training (transition and/or annual) and demonstrated on the job competency is required.
- Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility as determined by medical authority.
- Already immune individuals (based on documented receipt of vaccine series or physician diagnosed illness), or those subject to religious exemption, or medical contraindication are exempt from this requirement.
- Must be available to work evening and weekends, as needed.
Qualifications
1. Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
2. Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal).
3. Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
4. Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs, walk, bend, stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties
may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
5. Possess and maintain health and freedom from communicable disease.
6. Demonstrated skill/evidence of competence in dance.
Preferred are those candidates who possess a Professional Certificate/Credential; or Associates Degree or higher with 15 semester hours of college credit in dance.

Applicants meeting the highly preferred criteria below will be sent to the hiring official first.
1. Experience in the general principles of expressive movement.
2. Experience in various forms of dance to include: modern, jazz, tap, hip hop, stepping and ballet.

Sports and Fitness Programs provide team sports, individual sports, fitness and health programs and, programming at Child Development Centers, School Age and Youth Programs. Pre-registration is required for Sports and Fitness Programs. Children and youth that are currently registered in CYS can be enrolled in Sports and Fitness using WebTrac.
The National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) has a website for evaluation of coaches. Parents have the opportunity to evaluate coaches on the NAYS website. Parents must have the coach member number to rate their coach. You can get this number from the CYS Sports and Fitness office.
