As an Industry Economist, you will:
Provide technical expertise and guidance on energy market economics to Department of Energy leadership, and other government agencies. Advise senior management on matters pertaining to the economics of energy markets.
Serve as a senior technical economics reviewer on matters pertaining to the economics of energy market developments for products developed under the EIA program. Provide authoritative review and guidance on methodologies used, proper assumptions, policy issues considered and results. Ensure compliance with established criteria, sound principles, and standard practices. Detect omissions, discrepancies, inadequacies, and nonconformance with approved criteria and recommends study team preparation of additional supportive documentation to substantiate project results. Evaluates and responds to questions raised by EIA staff and management as a result of technical review comments.
Maintain contact with high ranking officials, technical representatives of other DOE offices, other Federal and state agencies and interagency committees, representatives of professional organizations, the news media, or public action groups. Participate in national and regional workshops and conferences in a continuing effort to maintain coordination with all agencies engaged in the economic evaluation and analysis of energy, to minimize duplication of effort, and to achieve maximum effectiveness in overall development of joint actions and activities by the several agencies.
Serve as the public face of the EIA program and interfaces with agencies, stakeholder groups, and other concerned interests on issues pertaining to EIA. Represent EIA on issues related to economic evaluation and analysis of energy and related projects. Facilitates resolution of differences between EIA and other agencies/interests.
