This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Intergovernmental Affairs Specialist, GS-0301-11, FPL: 12 positions within the Census Bureau in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
A probationary period may be required.
This position is ELIGIBLE for telework; additional criteria will be required (e.g., supervisory approval).
This is a BARGAINING unit position.
Relocation expenses WILL NOT be paid.
Specialized Experience:
For the GS-11, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 in the Federal service.
Experience for this position includes: communicating state and local government issues to gubernatorial staff, state legislatures, or municipal forums; summarizing issues or advisory materials regarding intergovernmental issues or concerns; preparing materials for staff for participation in hearings, briefings and presentations before Congress, state or local governments, or state officials regarding state and local matters; summarizing and making recommendations regarding interactions with state and local governments and their associations; and advising officials of the legislative and administrative procedures and processes of state and local government; and providing guidance on intergovernmental issues and promoting engagement within office amongst staff.

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related.
NOTE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.
