Joining Customs & Border Protection will allow you to become a member of the Auditing team in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP). This position starts at a salary of $87,252.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $113,428.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $113,428 (GS-13, Step 10).

Additional information for each divisions:
Audit Performance and Excellence Division: Establishes formal policy and provides audit guidance to ensure that audits comply with Government Auditing Standards and established Agency policies and procedures.
Systems and Innovation Division: Manages the integrity of all the audit support systems, interfaces with DHS & CBP stakeholders to ensure that auditors have access to the latest tools & techniques, and is responsible for strategic engagements for the office.
Operations Division: Oversees the field offices' audit progress and completion on the National Annual Audit Plan (NAAP) and is also responsible for stakeholder outreach within the extended trade community of interest with a focus on advisory services.
This position is covered under the bargaining unit.
Motor Vehicle Operation: The incumbent must have and maintain a valid state driver's license and will be required to travel approximately 25% of the time to lead or participate in focused assessments, verifications, and other audits at field locations.
Required Training if Selected for this Position: Acceptance of this position will require that the selected individual spend up to 8 weeks in formalized courses of required basic auditor training at an off-site location, to conclude with written examinations, which must be successfully completed (passing score of 70% or higher) according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of International Trade policy. Failure to successfully complete required courses of basic auditor training and the written examinations in accordance with the policies of CBP will be grounds for either demotion or reassignment to another position, placement into a lower graded position, or separation from CBP in accordance with appropriate procedures. If you are a current CBP employee moving into the Auditor occupational series, you are also required to attend and successfully complete this training.
