The incumbent will be responsible for providing direct oversight of the park's existing Commercial Use Authorization program-including the review and redevelopment of the application and reporting processes, completing annual reports, facilitating changes to Special Conditions of the contracts, and advising NPS staff and commercial vendors on the program goals. The incumbent will oversee research and/or implementation of the park into historic leasing and/or fee collection programs. As necessary, the incumbent will facilitate special projects with research groups to understand visitor experience, visitor safety and observations of use. Incumbent will advise the general public, supervisor, Division Chiefs, Superintendent, and regional and national staff (as necessary) in the nuances of the commercial services activities at the park. The incumbent may travel intermittently for regional projects associated with concessionaire contract panels, or other similar projects. The incumbent will make purchases and travel for the program, as necessary; maintain budget for allocated funds for operating the commercial services programs. Travel will range from 3-30 days per year. State-issued drivers license is required.
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.

Physical Demands: The work of this position is mostly sedentary, requiring long periods of sitting at a desk or computer in an indoor environment. From time to time, the incumbent must leave the office and visit outdoor areas of the park or visit other structures such as maintenance shops, warehouses or other storage buildings, visitor centers and other structures in the park where the interpretive program is carried out, campgrounds, concessionaire facilities, housing units, and other sites. The physical demands of these visits generally entail walking around and some lifting and carrying of light objects. A valid driver's license is required to perform the duties.
Working Conditions: Most of the work is completed indoors in an office where the light, heat, and ventilation are adequate for the work to be done. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts, which require normal safety precautions typical of places such as offices, meeting and training rooms, and commercial vehicles. When the incumbent visits maintenance areas, warehouses, or outdoor areas in the park, the working conditions may be less comfortable, and the incumbent may be required to wear protective clothing and to observe safety precautions. From time to time, the position may have to travel to other parks or to training sites.

The St. Croix National Scenic Riverway (NSR) is located in eastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. The St. Croix NSR protects 252 miles of river, including the St. Croix and Namekagon Rivers. The Riverway is one of the original eight rivers designated as a wild or scenic river. Camping is provided at designated NPS and state park sites. The Riverway is a popular destination for canoeing, boating, fishing, camping and hunting. All three duty stations are located in small communities in largely rural recreational areas, though park headquarters in St Croix Falls, WI is the largest of the three communities. Summer daytime temperatures are mild averaging 75-85 degrees Fahrenheit and nighttime temperatures averaging 60-70 degrees. Winter daytime temperatures are cold averaging 10-20 degrees Fahrenheit, and nighttime temperatures averaging 0-15 degrees.
