Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of the regional office payroll, personnel, and general administrative functions.

This announcement will close at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on the date the first (50) applicants are received or on May 15, 2018, whichever comes first.

This is a Term Appointment, initial appointment is not to exceed (NTE) 9/30/2020. This appointment may be extended 2 additional years at management’s discretion.

A trial period may be required.

Relocation expenses will not be paid.

The work schedule for this position is Mixed Tour. With a Mixed Tour work schedule, an employee may be changed between full-time, part-time and intermittent work schedules to accommodate fluctuating workloads and is subject to a signed agreement.

Help

The individual selected for this position will:

  • Prepares travel orders, collects receipts and contacts travel agent to make changes; reviews and audits vouchers.
  • Computes, audits, certifies employee payroll (such as Time and Attendance) records.
  • Researches payroll records and makes corrections to keying errors.
  • Performs personnel activities such as initiating personnel actions, requesting and returning certificates of eligible from Office of Personnel Management.
  • Conducts records and reference checks.

Qualifications

To be minimally qualified for this position, applicants MUST have a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute with three or fewer errors based on a five-minute sample.

For the GG-05, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 in the Federal service.

Experience for this position includes preparing travel or miscellaneous vouchers; reviewing, and verifying auditing travel and miscellaneous vouchers; computing and auditing employee payroll in an automated environment; reviewing employee payroll reports; making adjustments to payroll due keying errors; preparing personnel actions; requesting and returning certificates of eligibles; and completing applicant reference checks.

OR

Successfully completed 4 years of post-high school education.
