The Director, Intelligence Community Information Management Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-2 is the functional Army Intelligence Chief Information Officer (CIO), Intelligence Information Management /Information Technology (IM/IT) policy maker, Intelligence Data Steward, and the Authorizing Official for Army systems that process non-cryptologic Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). The director develops Army Intelligence IM/IT policy, vision, and implementation/resourcing strategies on a global scale for the Army Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communication (JWICS) enterprise, which includes the transport layers, network layer, application layer, physical layer, and applicable standards. The director represents the Army and the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS), G-2 at the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) level and interfaces directly with the Intelligence Community CIO as one of the 17 members of the Intelligence Community for determining comprehensive, functional IM/IT policy, strategy, and compliance. Independently anticipates and resolves major challenges and addresses policy and strategy matters associated with frequent and rapid changes in technology and IM/IT enablers. Serves as the Army expert in Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Department of the Defense Intelligence Information Systems (DODIIS) requirements and resource planning. Serves as the Intelligence IM/IT functional expert with the Army CIO/G6. Oversees compliance of IM/IT policy within Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities across the Force and around the world. Responsible for the budget of $140+ million (base and overseas contingency operations funds). Performance is reviewed in the broadest terms for technical perceptiveness, managerial competence and senior leadership effectiveness. Serves under the general direction of and receives broad strategic guidance from the DCS, G-2. Oversees an workforce of 180 combined military, civilians and contractor personnel (SME); directly supervises personnel at the GG-15 and DISL level.
