The MCC Office of General Counsel is recruiting for the Summer 2018 Student Volunteer Internship Program. Selected candidates will function in an assistant capacity performing technical and administrative tasks to support mission-related functions and agency business operations. Tasks will primarily consist of conducting research and applying analytical and evaluative methods to produce factual reports and other forms of official correspondence and materials for MCC senior leadership and the public; data management; proofing and editing; tracking deadlines and action items; attending meetings and preparing summary notes for distribution; and staffing agency events.

Legal Intern: Interns assist OGC attorneys in providing legal advice to MCC staff on issues related to development of new compact and other assistance programs and implementation of existing compact and related programs. They work with attorneys in reviewing grant disbursement related documentation, as well as in the drafting of memoranda, agreements, letters, and other documents. Interns will have the opportunity to sit in on meetings, potentially including those with representatives of foreign governments and outside counsel. They will research international law issues, as well as other legal topics, assist attorneys in conducting due diligence, and on other legal matters, including those involving agency operations. Interns will be required to utilize legal reference files, the Internet, and electronic databases to conduct research, prepare written work, compile information, and perform a variety of other legal support functions.
This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
All internships are NON-PAID. The student is considered a volunteer and is not entitled to compensation or overtime during any portion of this assignment. However, a transportation benefit may be provided depending on availability of funds.
