The Emergency Department Physician is accountable to the Deputy Chief of the Emergency Department and Emergency Department Service and is responsible for providing the most effective delivery of outpatient care while meeting and exceeding compliance standards. The Emergency Department Physician has responsibility for providing a complete range of medical care to patients including examination and treatment of a variety of general medical problems in compliance with National Joint Commission accreditation standards. The physician provides direct patient care in the Emergency Department. The incumbent must meet medically related documentation requirements set forth by Joint Commission.
