The incumbent of this position will work in the Office of the Superintendent at Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River providing professional, technical and compliance work to assist management in assuring that land use issues and growth within the river corridor fulfill the intent of Congress in the park's enabling legislation (PL 95-625) and (PL 90-542).
Incumbent has primary responsibility for review of local, state, and county codes, ordinances, regulations and significant projects to determine compliance with the Upper Delaware Land and Water Use Guidelines and the Upper Delaware River Management Plan. The position requires professional planning work. Use and management of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data is a component of this work.
The incumbent functions as a key team member and leader for the overall area management. Collaboration with a management council, various land use and resource management agencies, local jurisdictions (two [2] states, five [5] counties, and fifteen [15] town/townships), and several non- profit organizations is necessary to fulfil the National Park Service mission.
Physical Demands: Work is performed primarily in an office setting and outdoors. Outdoor work involves some physical exertion such as hiking and walking on uneven terrain and changing elevations, paddling canoes or kayaks, and lifting. Incumbent will be required to travel to various sites and cities in the region using a government vehicle
Work Conditions: the majority of the work is performed in an office setting, but there is some exposure to outdoor conditions at facilities/projects. Outdoor work may occur in hot, humid or dry weather conditions. Outdoor work may also be required during periods of rain, snow, sleet, fog, or other adverse weather conditions. Work involves regular evening and some weekend hours to attend public meetings or events, planning commission meetings, municipality or partner meetings, or to monitor land use activities.
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.

The National Park Service has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
Work Schedule - Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. There will be evening meetings 2 - 4 times each month. Alternate work schedules will be available.
