Position is located in the Office of Engineering and Maintenance, Massena, NY. Massena is one of the most northern geographical towns in New York State and is located on the St. Lawrence River bordering Canada. In less than 2 hours you can travel to Montreal, Quebec or Ottawa, Ontario.
The Electrical Engineer performs duties involving analysis, troubleshooting, design, specification writing, drawing preparation, and cost estimating on projects/systems in the electrical, electronics and telecommunications fields. These duties are primarily associated with the operation, maintenance and improvement of the St. Lawrence Seaway looks and related facilities owned by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Familiarity with related engineering fields, such as mechanical and civil, is also required.
As a condition of employment, successful candidates for this position must be able to travel to and from Canada for meetings and work projects that, for example, may involve meeting with our Canadian counterpart just across the border (average travel time involved is approximately 30 minutes).
Additional Remarks:
