Working as a Maintenance Mechanic with the Office of Research Facilities (ORF), Division of Facilities Operations and Maintenance (DFOM), Maryland Facilities Management Branch (MFMB) or Clinical Center Facilities Branch (CCFB) Research Triangle Park (RTP) North Carolina and Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML) Montana. you will:
Install, repair, replace, modify and test new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, panels, switches, breakers, and controls. Test equipment using voltmeters, ammeters and curcuit tracers.
Perform a variety of minor maintenance /repair tasks involved in the upkeep of installation buildings, structures, fixtures and utilities.
Troubleshoot HVAC/R systems with complex problems and extensive repairs requiring judgment to locate malfunctions on equipment such as but not limited to: control circuits, motor circuits, motor control centers, frequency drives, street lighting, electrical panels, transfer switches,...

This position is designated as an "emergency essential" position and the selected candidate will be considered an "emergency essential" employee and will be required to be available, ready, willing, and able to report for duty under all circumstances, e.g., inclement weather, government closings and holidays, lapses in appropriations, non-emergency and emergency situations for operation 24 hours a day and 365 days per year coverage.
We are unable to pay relocation expenses.
A one-year probationary period may be required upon selection/placement to this position.
