The incumbent of this position will serve as Research Analyst (Project Manager) in the Office of the Dean of Faculty and Academic Programs at the College of Information and Cyberspace (CIC).
The CIC serves as the Department of Defense's (DoD's) principal educational resource for the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and their senior staffs and the Joint Staff for education in the cyber domain. As such, the CIC is responsible for a number of programs associated with Information Technology and Cyberspace education.
The National Defense University develops joint warfighters and other national security leaders through rigorous academics, research and engagement to serve the common defense.
This is a Title 10 Excepted Service Appointment. Appointment is not to exceed 3 years with the possibility for extension.

Serves an advisor to the Dean of Faculty and Academic Programs, with responsibility for managing, directing, and advancing academic programs and faculty development activities.
- Collaborates with CIC leadership, faculty and staff to keep the CIC Faculty Handbook current and relevant.
-Works closely with CIC leadership and other NDU components to develop programs and policies that link faculty enhancement with the larger College initiatives.
-Supports workshops, conferences, informal discussion groups, speaker series, technological applications, new faculty orientation, faculty mentorship, and program review and reflection.
-Provides support for travel, course schedule, faculty hours and CIC web page.
-Serves leadership in researching data needed for their scholarship.
Background or Security Investigation: This is a Non Critical Sensitive position which requires a background investigation. The individual selected for this position is required to obtain and maintain a Secret security determination to occupy a Non Critical Sensitive position within the agency as a condition of employment.
Education Requirement: An earned Master's degree in an appropriate discipline is preferred; however, the incumbent may hold a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in a field related to this position.
