The Tomah VA Medical Center is hiring for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to work in the Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP). Primary duties of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
· The NP is a prescriber for veterans, including medication management and clinical management of veterans.
· The NP will be supported by medical physicians, psychiatrists, and other NP/PAs.
· The NP may be asked to respond to consults initiated from medicine inpatient units and other CLCs in this facility.
· There will be authorization with supervising psychiatrist/psychiatrist on inpatient psych unit regarding all admissions and discharges.
· There will be telephone contact with supervising psychiatrist/psychiatrist regarding complex and/or high risk acute psychiatric patients.

The completion of course work equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. · Must be licensed or otherwise recognized as a nurse practitioner in a State, possess a master's degree from a program accredited by the NLNAC or CCNE, and maintain full and current certification as a nurse practitioner from the American Nurses Association or another nationally recognized certifying body
· Current, full, active and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse AND Nurse Practitioner in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia
· Proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C.402(d) and 7407(d).
· Must be licensed with prescriptive privileges.
