MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education or training which demonstrates your ability to repair malfunctions of ordnance equipment and components using sketches, electrical diagrams, technical specifications and engineering drawings in accomplishing this work, and skilled in the use of test equipment to make electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic checks.
WG-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 18 months of specialized experience that demonstrates your ability to perform on and/or off equipment inspection, modify, overhaul, troubleshoot and repair capability of weapons release and gun systems; verify and analyze malfunctions; troubleshoot, test, inspect and load/unload conventional munitions; and install/remove weapons delivery equipment, launchers and gun systems. The specialized experience must also demonstrate your ability to plan and layout the repair sequence and ability to complete modification, repair and installation of ordnance systems; diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions and determine remedy where complex relationships exist; experience in hand tools and a limited number of measuring equipment; use a variety of test equipment; and interpret technical directions, blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's specifications.
This job does not have a qualification requirement that allows substitution of education for specialized experience.
