GS-11 You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
(1) Experience performing professional accounting and auditing principles, concepts, and practices along with a general knowledge of regulations, requirements, and practices to perform assignments requiring conventional methods and techniques. (2). Experience independently perform the assignment and to gather, organize, and evaluate data in multiple areas and separate essential from nonessential data. (3) Experience serve as an auditor responsible for providing local commands and higher echelons with detailed briefings or position papers on the adequacy and accuracy of managerial and financial accounting systems and reports within the organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
GS-12 You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
(1) Experience performing analytical and evaluative methods and management techniques in order to audit data inputs; plan, organize, conduct and/or direct complex analyses with undefined scopes; and ultimately develop detailed, functional user requirements. (2) Experience performing accounting and auditing theory, management controls and risk management concepts, practices and techniques. (3). Experience communicating to interact with high-ranking officials to settle controversial issues. (4). Experience leadership and management skills in order to effectively provide functional advice to team members and customers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

This position has both basic qualifications AND specialized experience: THIS IS A POSITIVE EDUCATION SERIES POSITION; YOU MUST INCLUDE YOUR UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT AT TIME OF APPLICATION TO SUPPORT THE EDUCATION REQUIREMENT OF THIS POSITION. BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Must have a bachelor's degree in accounting or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. NOTE: The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard. The team provides complex auditing services directly affecting a large of complex multi-mission military installation. OR Combination of education and experience, which included at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided me with professional accounting knowledge. Background also includes at least one of the following: 1) Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses (which can include up to 6 hours of business law); 2) a certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination; or 3) completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in accounting or auditing, provided that (a) successfully worked at the full-performance level in accounting, auditing, or a related field; (b) a panel of at least two higher level professional accountants or auditors has determined that have demonstrated a good knowledge of accounting and of related and underlying fields that equals in breadth, depth, currency and level of advancement that which is normally associated with successful completion of the 4 year course of study described in paragraph A; and (c) except for literal nonconformance to the requirement of 24 semester hours in accounting, my education, training, and experience fully meet the specified requirements. The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
