1. Property and equipment custodian: Performs physical inventory and property accountability management of property and equipment. Reconciles property record balances using property inventory from Discover Viewer. Maintains an accounting and reporting system for nonexpendable property and performs routine phases of property management. Corrects routine discrepancies within the system. Maintains inventory of property for Force Support Squadron activities in accordance with established guidelines and procedures. Resolves property record discrepancies through reconstruction of supply transactions and/or extensive search of supply records, computer listings, Discover Viewer, etc. Ensures accurate description, condition, and quantity available when property is declared excess or residue. Reviews reports of excess property submitted by other offices and identifies items that have potential for utilization.
2. Report of Survey Monitor: Receives and adjusts Report of Survey report when property is lost, damaged or destroyed. Ensures that proper documentation of the loss is on file and that the loss was not a result of negligence by a member of the squadron. Ensures that the property is written off of the records and files are maintained with the Shared Service Center.
3. DRMO representative: Serves as principle authority in the FSS for screening and distribution of excess and surplus property. Serves at the FSS principle screening authority for the Defense Reutilization Management Office (DRMO). Directs, coordinates, and controls the turn in of all NAF and APF property and equipment.
4. Vehicle Control Duties: Provides supply support and account management for the FSS vehicle fleet, consisting of widely varying vehicles obtained from APFs, NAFs, DRMO and confiscated vehicle sources. Acts as liaison between the FSS and the base transportation activity for all unit government motor vehicle matter, Controls unit vehicles and obtains transportation services required to support unit mission requirements. Assigns the vehicles to their respective authorized functions. Defends vehicle
requirements, justifies request for additional vehicles; complies with the base vehicle rotation and priority recall plans; notifies the Vehicle Operations Officer when assigned vehicles are no longer required. Provides justifications data to support unit minimum essential vehicle levels (MEL). Ensures only qualified and properly licensed personnel operate assigned motor vehicles. Take appropriate action to prevent misuse, abuse, and damage to Air Force motor vehicles. Ensures low-use vehicles are rotated with high-use vehicles.
5. Performs other related duties as assigned.
