Help

Assess security posture of classified and unclassified Information Systems using a variety of automated tools to identify or actual vulnerabilities.
Implement standard operating procedures, software, controls promoting awareness of security issues among management and ensures sound security principles are part of the organizations vision and goals.
Study, interpret, and develop guidelines in Cybersecurity when established or standardized system or methods are nonexistent or inadequate.
Develop guidance and procedures for implementation of the Information Assurance Program, in accordance with Army Regulation 25-2 .
Implement program guidance on procedures, methods, and techniques to protect classified and unclassified material when processed or stored on automated systems.
Perform a variety of substantive and comprehensive management tasks to assist in the administration of an effective cybersecurity program.

This IT Specialist position is located in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. This is a DoD Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) position in the NH-03 broadband with an advertised pay range from the lowest equivalent GS 12 grade Step 1 to the highest equivalent GS 13 grade step 10 in the broadband.

Telework Eligibility Statement: This position may be eligible for regular and recurring TELEWORK, including emergency and OPM prescribed unscheduled Telework. Supervisor approval will be required on a case-by-case basis.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies:

AND
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position based on experience your resume must include at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11) grade level in the Federal service which includes:

1) Expert knowledge of both computers and telecommunications systems to assess security posture of classified and unclassified Information Systems; AND

2) Technical knowledge and skill in Automated Information Systems (AIS) and information systems security to ensure the organization follows policies and directives; AND

3) Expert knowledge of a wide ranch of information system security concepts, principles, and practices to plan, direct, and evaluate Army security programs for Automated Information Systems; AND

4) Ability to administer the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) for managing users and systems through the Risk Management Framework.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02 or GS-11).

Education
