Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-12 grade level, if you have:
EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level (or equivalent) performing all of the following duties:

Assist Leadership in developing guidelines or interpreting the intent of guides that do exist. AND
Perform policy reviews of new and recurring directives, standards, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure they are compliant with cost accounting and financial principles, standards, practices and techniques. AND
Evaluate and analyze policy activity- based cost management systems and information produced from these systems for major programs or processes of an agency or organization.

You qualify for the GS-13 grade level, if you have:
EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level (or equivalent) performing all of the following duties:

Perform policy reviews and provides Senior Leadership guidance on the effects concerning financial management concepts, principles, practices, laws, regulations and accounting policies, and systems. AND
Assist Leadership with providing direction and guidance in the design, implementation, and enhancement of an automated financial management system. AND
Provides audit compliance solutions of financial problems, issues and in administration of the Agency objective to obtain an unqualified opinion. AND
Provides broad administrative and policy direction regarding agency financial goals and broad Federal financial management standards.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
