This Advanced Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT), Computed Tomography (CT) position is assigned to the Fargo VA Health Care System Imaging Service/Computed Tomography department. FHCS is a level two complexity level, providing research, servicing ten CBOC's, emergency department and in-patient facility. The Advanced Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT), Computed Tomography Technologist, employee at this level is fully functional as an Advanced DRT and can carry out the assigned tasks independently.
Performs 25% CT exams to include complex CT exams, 75% Radiology/Fluoroscopy exams that may include Dexa. This specialty modality requires specific knowledgeable of cross-sectional human anatomy and its application in spiral, and/or, multi-slice computer tomography and peripheral vascular examinations.
This Advanced Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT), Computed Tomography (CT), position is assigned to the Fargo VA Health care system, Radiology Service; Computed Tomography section. The Advanced Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT), Computed Tomography Technologist, employee at this level is fully functional as an Advanced DRT and can carry out the assigned tasks independently. The incumbent provides coverage for the facility as needed during weekdays, weekend rotations, holiday rotations, on-call rotations, and may include covering other shifts as needed.
This specialty modality requires specific knowledgeable of cross-sectional human anatomy and its application in spiral, and/or, multi-slice computer tomography, including drainages, biopsies, and peripheral vascular examinations. The technologist requires specific knowledge and training in the location, appearance, and function of the various major and minor systems susceptible to radiological illumination; to interpret the examination request accurately; to understand the functioning and inter-relationship of the various organs; to use the methods and techniques which will identify organs appearing on the digital display monitor, or workstation and the various stages of the examination to judge the acceptability of the image and/or scan for diagnostic use and to emphasize the aspects of particular interest to the physician. This subspecialty requires advanced ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT).
Work Schedule: PM or Night shifts predominately. PM shifts run from 4pm-12am, Night shifts run from 12am-8am. Will rotate pm or night shift with 3 other staff. Will also rotate holidays and weekends with staff with possible call coverage at times. May cover day shifts as necessary .

Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of existing pay, higher or unique qualifications, or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)
Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.

The Fargo VA Health Care System (HCS) is a Joint Commission accredited medical/surgical hospital with 36 acute care beds, a 38 bed Community Living Center, Primary Care and Specialty Clinics, and 10 Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). Our CBOCs are located across North Dakota and northwest Minnesota.
The Fargo VA HCS oversees the provision of healthcare to more than 36,000 Veterans living in North Dakota, 17 counties in northwest Minnesota, and 1 northeast South Dakota county. The Fargo VA HCS has approximately 300,000 outpatient visits annually. The Medical Center is affiliated with the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences, providing training to medical students, and Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, and Surgery resident physicians. The facility is also a training facility for nursing and allied health care students.
The Medical Center is located in a quiet north Fargo neighborhood near the Red River within walking distance to a bus stop, parks, walking/bike paths, and a golf course. We are also just down the street from North Dakota State University, the Fargodome, restaurants, hotels, and downtown Fargo.
