Duties include but not limited to:
Facility Registered Nurse Transition to Practice (RNTTP) Program Coordinator Registered Nurse (RN) functions under the direction of the supervisor and is responsible for collaborating in assisting the RN Transition to Practice Residency Program in achieving its mission, goals, and expected outcomes. The RNTTP Residency program consists of a comprehensive 12-month curriculum built upon standards related to clinical, leadership, and professional dimensions. The RNTTP Coordinator assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the program based on established policies and guidelines consistent with the program mission, goals, and expected outcomes. The RNTTP Coordinator is responsible for the quality and quantity of program-specific training and establishes program initiatives and direction within limitations of available staff and budget. In collaboration with leadership, stakeholders, academic affiliates, and the program participants, the RNTTP Coordinator contributes to education for the transition from academia to clinical practice, integration into the organization, and socialization into the professional nurse role. Administers the facility developed formal, data-driven, systematic plan for appraising the effectiveness of the RNTTP Program and disseminates program outcomes.
Supervisory Controls: The incumbent is responsible to the assigned rating and approving supervisors and is accountable to the Associate Director of Patient Care Services (ADPCS).
PRACTICE: Leads professional practice using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to improve evidence-based and/or data-driven outcomes for an identified patient population and/or specialized areas within immediate practice setting. Expectations:
1. Leads the provision of nursing care to patients with complex care needs utilizing the nursing process in alignment with the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice.
2. Applies clinical knowledge/judgment to lead staff involvement in planning, decision-making, and evaluating outcomes within the immediate practice setting.
3. Effectively functions as a leader, with demonstrated outcomes, for the immediate practice setting.
VETERAN/PATIENT DRIVEN CARE: Improves Veteran/patient driven care by optimizing the patient experience, satisfaction and/or safety for the immediate practice setting.
