This position is located at Oregon's Wild Horse Corral Facility on Burns District, outside of Hines, OR. The corral facility houses up to 1,200 animals and services private care placement events in Oregon and Washington, as well as national private care placement platforms. This position is responsible for assisting in all phases of facility operations including animal preparation, daily feeding and care, private care placement and adoption compliance, facility maintenance, and public outreach. These duties require expert knowledge of animal husbandry practices, the ability to operate 4x4 tractors and loaders, the ability to ride horseback and rope and restrain wild horses, the ability to identify animals by color and markings, and effective communication skills.
There is no education requirement or substitution for experience for this position.
