This position is located at Ft Huachuca with the MEDDET. Supervision of the position will come from the Office of the State Surgeon. The primary purpose of this position is to provide biomedical equipment repair services, activities, and functions (troubleshoot, overhaul, repair, test, align, calibrate, inspect and maintain) and provide biomedical equipment repair oriented training to guardsmen performing annual training.

Compatible Military Assignments: Any Army MOS
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 1-year equivalent to at least next lower grade level experience, education or training overseeing and implementing a program involving the identification and resolution of difficult issues or problems in a maintenance function. Experience preparing budgets based on plans for maintenance, repair work, new construction alteration projects, replacement of existing equipment, or increase in services and processes to ensure program effectiveness. Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more classes of equipment. The experience must include knowledge of standard shop terminology. A basic knowledge of mechanical principles relating to equipment. Experience must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical publications. Knowledge is of the type gained from technical training, education, and experience in functions such as repairing, overhauling, maintaining, constructing, or inspecting equipment. Experience using computer and automation systems.
You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics):
1. Knowledge of a comprehensive range of maintenance management policies and practices regarding remedial maintenance, scheduled services, equipment classification, technical inspections for issue/turn-in, equipment accountability, and related administrative and supply management practices.
2. Knowledge of analog and digital circuit theory, pneumatics, hydraulics, optics, opto-electronics, electro-mechanics, and all associated terminology and symbolism in order to identify and repair medical equipment failures, to perform medical equipment incoming and PM inspections, and to design new devices or implement medical equipment modifications/interfaces.
3. Knowledge of the operation and application of standard and special purpose Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment in order to troubleshoot and repair medical equipment failures, to perform medical equipment preventive maintenance and calibration services, and to perform remedial maintenance of medical equipment.
4. Ability to interpret and relate federal, Army, state, and local standards and regulatory requirements associated with medical equipment maintenance, maintenance shop operation, and local environment.
5. Skill to use databases and other resources to obtain, analyze, and interpret data for statistical trending or reporting on issues that are not obvious in nature and require different treatment.
