This job opportunity is for a Supply Technician position in the Warehousing and Packing Unit, Warehousing and Transportation Section, Support Services Branch (SSB) at the National Processing Center (NPC), U.S. Bureau of the Census located in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The function of the section is to provide a variety of services including warehousing, transportation, shipping and receiving, fork-lifting, laboring, supplying, controlling forms and expendables, and property management. This position is included in the bargaining unit.

A one-year probationary period may be required.
You MUST have a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute with 3 or fewer errors based on a five-minute sample and one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience as listed below. You may meet the typing requirement by answering "Yes" to the online question regarding typing ability.
Specialized Experience: You qualify at the grade 05 level if you possess one year of specialized experience that equips you with the skills needed to perform the job duties. This experience must have been equivalent to at least the grade 04 level to meet the qualification requirements in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as experience in supply support work such as receiving, storing, issuing, inventorying, and shipping orders, as well as updating an automated inventory system.
Education Substitution for Specialized Experience: Successful completion of 4 years of study above high school level in an accredited business or technical school, college, or university may be substituted for the specialized experience requirement. A transcript must be submitted by the closing date of this vacancy announcement to receive credit for educational substitution.
Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet the specialized experience requirement.
