This position is located in Phoenix, AZ with the 161ARW. The primary purpose of the position is to provide technical expertise in preparing engineering plans, specifications and cost estimates. Additionally, the incumbent of this position will conduct preliminary, intermediate and final contractual inspections. These activities require application of the basic principles of engineering technology and related disciplines.

Qualification Requirements/Specialized Experience:
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the Specialized Experience OR the Education requirements listed below.
Specialized Experience: Must have 1-year equivalent to at least next lower grade level experience, education, or training with knowledge of basic standard engineering principles, methods and practices. Experience reading and interpreting engineering and architectural plans and specifications. Experience planning, scheduling and supervising; exercising initiative and sound judgment. Experience using a variety of inspection techniques and practices to determine compliance with plans and specifications.

Education: Possess two full years of graduate education or a master's degree directly related to the work of the position work of the position such as engineering and architecture fields. Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics):
1. Knowledge of engineering plans and specifications for compliance with federal and state regulations.
2. Knowledge of electrical distribution systems for buildings, facilities, and airfields.
3. Knowledge of mechanical utility systems such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems.
4. Ability to review engineering plans and specifications for compliance with federal and state regulations and ensures that design formats comply with applicable guidance.
5. Skill in participating in the construction planning process by investigating proposed projects to obtain field data, check existing facilities and utilities, and to conceptualize the scope of the completed project.
