MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position. Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion).
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education, or training that demonstrates your ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations and procedures; skill in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; clearly enunciate English without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit; effective two-way radio or telephone communication; write English in reports and presentation formats; communicate orally and in writing clearly and effectively; assess body language and perceive immediate risk levels; and apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material.
GS-12 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 36 months of specialized experience in the security career field or intelligence career field that demonstrates your ability to serve as a force protection security specialist for anti-terrorism and related physical and operational security programs' policies; review, analyze, and assess law enforcement sensitive information; manage assigned program areas; direct studies and reviews; and revise and implement force protection policies and projects. The specialized experience must also indicate you are knowledgeable in security program specialties to include physical, personnel, and operational security; correctly identify and resolve conflicting and complex policy and program objectives, and procedures within the security functional area; experience in the specialized field of force protection and anti-terrorism, and physical and operations security; knowledgeable of law enforcement and security policy requirements and procedures; possess communication skills to develop organizational working relationships and able to manage program segments with diverse military, civilian, professional, and technical populations; capable and skilled to provide recommendations for making key decisions and policy development on short and long term security planning; and competent on a broad range of security program relationships, as well as, has significant experiences in applying appropriate policy requirements in the areas of Incidents, Surveys, and Resolution of Findings and associated elements of physical security and information security.
Officer - An undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university is mandatory. The college degree work should include completed academic courses in sociology, criminology, police administration, criminal justice, or a related area. A graduate degree from an accredited civilian academic college or from an equivalent professional military education school is optimum.
Warrant Officer: Must possess a high school diploma or general education development (GED) diploma. An undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university, with completed academic courses in sociology, criminology, police administration, criminal justice, or a related area, is optimum.
