Career Ladder Promotion:
The Student Intern position has promotion potential up to the GS-04 grade level while under the Pathways Internship Program. You must meet eligibility and the OPM qualification requirements for the non-competitive promotion to the next higher grade.
Once converted, this position has a target grade/position to a Wildland Fire Fighter, GS-0456-03/04/05/06 with a full performance level (FPL) up to a GS-07; however, the target position and FPL may change based on the need of the organization at that time.
NOTE: The selectee must physically report to the duty location that was selected during the application process. The selectee is expected to report to the duty location during the summer break and work 40 hours a week; however, the total hours worked per week can be flexible, if the applicant is currently enrolled in summer courses.
