As a Communications Specialist (Housing Finance), you will:
- Responsible for planning, implementing, and developing media-related communications programs designed to promote Ginnie Mae's accomplishments.
- Work closely with reporters to pitch stories, draft editorials, and uses other earned media to promote Ginnie Mae initiatives.
- Provide strategic counsel and technical support to the Senior Advisor for Communications and Congressional Relations and the Ginnie Mae management team on communications and media-relations issues.
The official duty station for this position will be in Washington, District of Columbia. Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal.
Key Requirements:
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To be qualified for this position at the GS-14 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level. This experience is defined as:
-Planning and implementing external and internal communications efforts, to inform and educate specific constituencies and the general public about an agency's core mission and programs; AND
-Working with the national media, pitching stories, and responding to media requests; AND
-Using media content to communicate the mission and initiatives of an organization to important stakeholders and other external audiences.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.
