As a Supervisory Hydrologic Technician within the Kansas Water Science Center some of your specific duties will include:
Physical Demands: Field work regularly requires frequent physical exertion to inspect ongoing operations, including walking over rough, rocky, or uneven terrain; lifting and carrying equipment and supplies; and wading streams in all types of weather.
Work Environment: Field work involves driving, wading in rivers and streams, and walking over rough terrain. Field work is in all weather conditions and involves exposure to heat and cold. The field work also will be in boats on reservoirs, on bridges, or in outdoor laboratories. Work may require the use of special clothing or gear such as masks, coats, boots, goggles, respirators, or life jackets.
