As a Physical Science Technician within the Central Energy Resources Science Center, some of your specific duties will include:
Physical Demands:
Work requires standing for long periods of time in a laboratory environment. Work commonly requires exertion in the preparation of samples and running analyses. Considerable dexterity may be required to prepare and/or analyze samples. Additionally, the incumbent may spend extended periods of time working at a computer in an office/laboratory environment.
Work Environment:
Work is primarily performed in a laboratory setting and involves regular and recurring exposure to irritant, toxic, and corrosive chemicals, as well as high-voltage electrical instruments. Special safety precautions and training are required, and the incumbent uses protective clothing and gear such as a laboratory coat, gloves, and safety glasses. Computer work occurs both in office and laboratory environments.
