As a Licensed Provider for the Department of Veterans Affairs, you will practice independently in the provision of psychological services, engage in professional and scientific work which relates to behavior, capacities, personality, interests, emotions and mental disorders. Consulting with peers and supervisors as appropriate.
PLEASE NOTE: Unlicensed psychologists at the doctoral level and must practice under the supervision of a licensed psychologist in the provision of psychological services. They are assigned to any VHA program and setting including mental health wherein licensed psychologists are available to supervise their practice.
The staff psychologist works in the Neuropsychiatry Clinic (NPSY) in the Mental Health Care Line. The psychologist addresses mental health issues of Veterans presenting for care in the NPSY. Services provided by the staff psychologist will include assessment, consultation, individual, group, couples, and family psychotherapy. Service may be delivered in-person, on-site or via telemental health.

Receiving Service Credit or Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. VA may offer newly-appointed Federal employee's credit for their job-related non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
