Title 32 CAT 1- All on board Federal Employees/Technicians within the ALARNG (T32 and T5, Permanent and Excepted Indefinite) CAT 2- Current Army M-Day and Temporary Technicians within ALARNG CAT 3- Applicants willing to become NG T32 DS Technicians and gain ALARNG membership, all current federal employees, all U.S. Citizens
(1) Applies a full range of knowledge of wood working techniques. Incumbent is skilled in measuring, laying out, developing, or changing plans to repair or fabricate wooden parts or items. Selects proper materials for construction of such things as crates, containers, boxes, bins, braces, etc. of various shapes and sizes for a variety of standard and special applications. Required to make standard joints and grooves, such as rabbet, lap, dado, tongue and groove, miter cuts and doweled edge joints required for secure and weathertight containers.
(2) Incumbent is skilled in using woodworking and layout devices, and standard woodworking tools, both manual and power. Plans and lays out work and material in accordance with a good working knowledge of woodworking techniques and an understanding of the properties of a variety of hard and soft woods, and composite materials.
(3) Maintains and performs operator level preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, to include lubrication of power tools and sharpening of saw blades.
(4) Performs other duties as assigned.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to use hand and powered tools, machines, and measuring and squaring devices to cut, nail, staple, screw, bolt or fasten wood and wood-like boards, sheets, parts or sections.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 12 months experience in each of the following tasks: Experience or training in the full range of woodworking techniques to plan, construct, and repair standardized shipping and storage containers. Experience measuring, developing and laying out changes to existing container plans where specially shaped items require unconventional cradles, blocks, braces or cushioning. Experience making standard joints and grooves. Experience with a wide range of packing methods and techniques. Experience in combining and modifying existing plans for conventional containers to construct irregular shaped containers. Experience using standard manual and power woodworking tools. Experience with various types and properties of hard and soft woods and wood composite materials enabling them to select appropriate material. Experience with various types and properties of fastening devices.
