This position serves as Director of Congressional Affairs for the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM). As Director, incumbent oversees and coordinates congressional activities and programs for USAGM, with responsibility for representing USAGM on matters of interest to and for responding to inquiries from members of Congress.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Encompasses full supervisory responsibility over a small staff of technical experts, including: planning work to be accomplished and setting priorities; making work assignments and measuring results; setting performance standards, giving advice/feedback; evaluating performance; hearing/resolving complaints; and adhering to EEO rules/regulations.
Serves as the senior official responsible for advising USAGM CEO and agency senior executives on their relationships with congress.
Serves as the principal advisor and consultant to USAGM CEO and senior executives on congressional program direction and strategy, outreach and relationship-building efforts on Capitol Hill and as a focal point for coordination of Congressional liaison between the USAGM and its networks.
Represents the USAGM in regular contacts with members of congress and their staffs and serves as the USAGM spokesperson at meetings of congressional committees and in meetings with members of congress and their staffs, presenting the USAGM's viewpoint on legislative issues before congress.
Responds to general congressional requests and inquiries. Initiates provision of information about the USAGM, its networks, and their activities. Reviews and edits USAGM correspondence addressed to members of congress or staff for substance and style. Ensures timely and accurate actions/responses to requests and inquiries.
Prepares briefing books for the CEO and senior executives for congressional hearings and calls with members of congress; works closely with USAGM entities to develop appropriate back-up materials; assumes responsibility for editing materials submitted; and assists in editing transcripts of congressional hearings, and coordination and editing materials to be provided for the record.
