The Project Finance team specializes in financial sector, telecommunications, manufacturing, and other highly complicated transactions. Note that students interested in Impact Investing finance should apply directly to the Socially Responsible Investing team or the Social Enterprise Finance team. Interns receive exposure to international project finance and work in collaboration with seasoned financiers in the loan origination process. The life cycle of a loan is made up of underwriting, due diligence and Know Your Customer review, an approval process whereby papers are written for the purpose of obtaining approval from Credit Policy, Investment Committee and, depending on the size of the loan, the Board of Directors, loan agreement negotiations and disbursement. After disbursement, a project is transferred to one of two monitoring groups. Interns on the Project Finance team serve as junior analysts and may be involved in all stages of project approval as part of a project team. Interns typically work on three to six transactions, depending on the complexity of the projects and the amount of time an intern is available. Typical duties include:
Applicants must be enrolled at least part-time in an accredited college or university in a relevant graduate degree program, specifically in Finance, Accounting, International Affairs, International Development, International Relations or International Economics.
