The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Registered Nurse (RN) Special Projects
Coordinator at Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks (VHSO), Fayetteville, AR The RN
serves as the facility's incumbent for Patient Centered Care and accompanying maintains and
prepares the organization to comply with Veterans Health Administration (VHA) directives in the
areas of Patient Centered Care (PCG), and any related Certifications as well as VHA education
programs that promote employee engagement. The RN is responsible for creating policies,
theories, and strategies and putting them into action to grow and strengthen the Patient
Experience. The RN advises executive leadership on the state of the Patient Experience. In
addition, the RN works with the Veteran Family Advisory Council (VFAC) to bring their voice to
decision making within the organization. This person may be asked to assist with special
programs as new initiatives are introduced by VA Central Office in keeping with the Secretary's
priorities. RN is responsible for appropriate management/oversight of fund control point
spending and credit card purchases. RN will function as a Contracting Officer Representative to
support contracts that are associated with special projects. RN will possess effective
communication practices and exhibit superior collaborative skills. RN reports directly to the
Associate Director, Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive.
All RNs are required to be competent in the standards of nursing, incorporating evidence
based care. Based on the RN's patient assessment, the RN must be able to initiate care ·
independently based on department standard operating procedures. The RN is expected to
communicate timely and effectively with all members of the Interdisciplinary Team as well as
relate courteously and appropriately to all internal and external customers. The RN is expected
to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment working as a patient advocate and build
strong teams within multiple levels of interdisciplinary staff.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4pm
