This LPN position in the Community Living Center (CLC). You will be a direct caregiver to our Nations Veterans. You will work independently, but under the supervision of the RN with minimal guidance. You will perform each of the identified elements on a daily basis as assigned in a safe, effective manner, adhering to standards and criteria identified in Medical Center/Health Care System manuals and current practice.

Duties include but not limited to the following:
Physical Standards: Position requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting and transferring in administration of patient care. In addition, the incumbent must be emotionally stable and adjust to different types of personalities, demonstrating respect, compassion, courtesy, concerns and a positive attitude. He/she must be quick and dependable in taking emergency action as directed and use initiative in preventing accidents.
Please Note: In accordance with Office of Human Resources Management (OHRM) bulletin (dated 10/1/2019), Human Resources Management Letter NO. 05-19-12, although hybrid title 38 occupations follow title 5 Veterans' preference rules, as required by the Merit Systems Protection Board (Graves v. Receiving Service Credit or Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. VA may offer newly-appointed Federal employee's credit for their job-related non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
