This is a permanent Career-Seasonal position and subject to release and recall procedures.
Salary: GS-7 - $43,251 per annum to $56,222 per annum
GS-9: $52,905 per annum - $68,777 per annum
This position has been categorized as a Prescribed Fire and Fuels Specialist under IFPM, moderate complexity and requires selectee to meet the minimum qualification standards for IFPM prior to being placed into the position. For more information on IFPM, click here.
Has program responsibility for prescribed fire, fuels management, smoke management, and wildland fire within New River Gorge NR. Primary responsibilities of the positions are (1) preparing and carrying out prescribed fire plans, fire effects, manual and mechanical hazardous fuel treatments, and smoke and wildland fire use monitoring; and, (2) wildland fire preparedness and suppression.
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.

-You will be required to operate a government motor vehicle as part of your official duties. You will be required to submit a copy of your Motor Vehicle Operator's License. You may be required to submit a copy of your driving record. Submitted in a State sealed envelope or directly by the State authorities, and at your own expense, all certified records from all States that disclose valid driver's licenses, whether current or past.
